About Our Firm
AICPA PEER REVIEW

The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) is the premiere professional accounting association in the United States with the main purpose of supporting its members and maintaining high quality standards among accounting professionals and within the accounting industry.

Brigante, Cameron, Watters & Strong, LLP has been a member of the AICPA since the firm's inception. As a Private Companies Practice Section member offering various public accounting and financial reporting services, our firm is required by the AICPA to participate in an approved practice-monitoring program consisting of a System Review, the highest level of peer review in the program.

Peer reviews have been developed by the AICPA with the primary objective of protecting the public interest by improving and maintaining the quality of practice of CPA firms. In brief, the System Review mentioned above is a comprehensive evaluation to ensure that (1) firm's system of quality control for its accounting and auditing practice procedures has been designed in accordance with the quality standards set forth by the AICPA and (2) its quality control policies and procedures are being complied with. Important aspects of this system review include:
  • Review of Engagements
  • Review of the System
  • Reporting on Reviews
This System Review program requires that an "external" review be conducted every three years by an independent and objective accounting firm and internal annual reviews performed by the firm's partners and accounting managers.

The Partners, Professionals and Staff Brigante, Cameron, Watters & Strong are committed to providing the highest quality of professional services available.

This dedication to excellence, as well as our strictness in following accounting guidelines, standards and procedures, is evident in the results of our last Systems Peer Review. This external review, conducted by the independent and objective accounting firm of Kennedy & Kennedy (member AICPA), reported that Brigante, Cameron, Watters & Strong, LLP had passed the highest level of peer review with "no letters of comment." Letters of comment would report deviations from AICPA Quality Control Standards including misapplication of Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards established by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB).
