John J. Cameron

John J. Cameron, CPA 

John J. Cameron is the Managing Partner of Brigante, Cameron, Watters & Strong, LLP. He has been in public accounting since 1973, both as an independent practitioner and as principal in two accounting firms. John specializes in accounting and tax services for industries including manufacturing, medical services, travel, construction, textiles, graphic arts and a range of closely held companies. His expertise also encompasses areas of tax planning, wealth transfer and succession planning.

His vision, which is to utilize technology to its maximum potential to increase efficiency and productivity, has put Brigante, Cameron, Watters & Strong, LLP at the forefront of cutting-edge technology among medium-sized CPA firms nationwide.

John P. Watters

John P. Watters, CPA

John began his career in public accounting in 1979 at the Los Angeles office of Arthur Andersen & Co., rising to the level of Senior Tax Manager. There he applied his specialized tax background to assist clients with tax planning and compliance in the real estate, construction, entertainment, and manufacturing industries. Because of his expertise, he was asked to join the Mergers/Acquisitions and Partnership Return Tax Specialty Teams. Prior to transferring to the Tax Department in 1981, John was chosen as one of 12 individuals nationwide to help pilot the Arthur Andersen Computer Audit Specialty Team.

At BCWS, John heads up the Tax Department, and oversees the Estate and Trust practice, which encompasses overall planning, wealth transfer and all tax reporting requirements. John focuses on addressing the unique and interrelated complex tax needs of growing small businesses and their owners. In addition, he works extensively with clients to resolve their disputes and tax controversies with the Internal Revenue Service and the California Franchise Tax Board. John has been a frequent speaker to civic and public groups on all areas of taxation and tax planning.

You can find John up at Lake Arrowhead relaxing and having a great time on his boat.  You may also find him on the golf course trying to improve his swing.  John’s avid interest in motorcycle riding has taken him to Arizona and through California on
his Harley.

Christopher A. Strong

Christopher A. Strong, CPA

Christopher A. Strong entered public accounting in 1981. His background includes employment at Peat Marwick and BDO Seidman, both national accounting firms.

Chris is a specialist in business accounting and an expert in many areas of income taxation as it applies to corporations, “S” corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships, real estate, estate and gifts, and individuals. He has extensive experience working with clients in film production and distribution, entertainment, real estate development, manufacturing, distribution, apparel and service industries.

Chris enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. Chris is a lifelong surfer and an avid ocean enthusiast.

Mark C. Tackmann

Mark C. Tackmann, CPA

Mark began his accounting career with a large national CPA firm and has worked for large local entrepreneurially focused firms ever since. Before coming to BCWS, Mark was an audit partner with the local Irvine-based CPA firm of Allen, Haight and Monaghan, LLP.

Mark’s experience includes the performance of accounting and auditing, income tax planning and compliance, strategic and operational planning, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, complex financial analysis, and non-traditional accounting and consulting services.

He focuses on serving clients in the construction (heavy highway, residential and commercial), manufacturing, distribution (wholesale and retail), technology, real estate, professional service (law firms, staffing companies, architects, etc.), medical and health care industries.

Jay Donovan

Jay Donovan, CPA

Jay brings 30 years of public accounting experience to BCWS. His technical expertise and meaningful guidance build on the strong foundation of high quality professional services we provide to our clients. Jay will also play a pivotal role in BCWS’s expansion of our Orange County practice.

Jay began his accounting career with KPMG before moving to large local entrepreneurially focused firms. Most recently, Jay spent 7 years as a tax partner with the Irvine based firm of Allen, Haight and Monaghan, LLP.

Jay’s experience includes tax compliance, consulting and comprehensive tax planning services, transactional planning designed to minimize taxes and increase net worth, as well as evaluation of tax-deferred transactions and professional representation with taxing authorities.

Jay focuses on serving clients in the construction, manufacturing, distribution, publishing, technology, medical and other professional services, real estate and property management industries.
